Every year, I write a short story especially for my friends at Christmas which is much more fun than just sending a Christmas card.
My Christmas short story for 2006 is called ‘Three Christmas Lovers‘.
It’s all about three men and one lady. Who will win her favours?

New relationships are often the most intense but what about the new relationship that happens like a bolt from the blue or a coup de foudre.
In Bagpipe Lover, the piper looks across a crowded bar and sees the lady of his dreams. Seeing she also wears a wedding band and the protective arm around her shoulder of the man that looks like her husband, our musician leaves the crowded county bar at the end of the evening sadly and alone.
His spirits are raised to fever pitch when he discovers, in the dark country lane, that she knows he has been watching her all evening and reciprocates strong feelings of attraction.

Ex-classmate from Hell is a free online short story about a grown woman who is contacted by an old school classmate who bullied her.
She finally agrees to meet with him. Their agendas are very different. He wants to carry on where he left off and she needs closure for an incident that has haunted her throughout her adult life.
The story takes place in London where the bully is now a successful business man. His victim appears to be just a housewife but there is a twist to this tale.
Restaurants and relationships in ‘Valley of Dreams’ is a free online short story about a business adviser, the battle of ‘living the dream’ in the hard world of commerce and the feelings of a husband of jealousy about his wife’s affair. Located in a beautiful West Country valley in the UK, it seemed like life would be bliss … until the customers don’t come. A small business adviser is hired and soon becomes too friendly with the cafe restaurant owner’s wife.

‘Smart Touch of Spice‘ is a story about spicing up a relationship.
Alice is a very prim and proper woman who likes nothing better for everything to be in it’s proper place and when her husband accuses her of not being as adventurous in her relationship as his secretary, she sets about refuting his claim in her usual methodical manner.
Then events turn nasty later in the day but she is doubly prepared.
Alice is a great character who always seems to have something in reserve to surprise the reader and this short crime story by Rob Hopcott does not disappoint.
